Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful things you can do, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. Respite care gives you time to rest, recharge and tend to your own wellbeing, while knowing your loved one is being well cared for.
At HomeCaring, we provide personalised respite support for older people and individuals living with disability. Whether you need help for a few hours, a weekend or longer, our team is here to step in with compassion, flexibility and peace of mind.
We offer flexible, government-funded respite care to support families and carers across Australia. Our services are designed to meet the individual needs of the person receiving care while giving their usual carers time to rest or manage other responsibilities.
Whether you need regular support or short-term help, we’ll work with you to create a plan that fits around your family’s routine, preferences and goals.
Our experienced respite care team can support you with:
In-home respite care with personal care and daily support
Community-based respite with social outings and engagement
NDIS Short Term Accommodation (STA) for a change of scenery

Respite care provides temporary support for someone who normally receives care from a family member, friend or primary carer. It allows carers to take a break or manage other commitments, while ensuring the person being supported continues to receive safe, compassionate care.
Respite care is available for older people and individuals with disability. If the person you care for receives NDIS or Support at Home funding, they may be eligible for funded respite services.
Respite can range from a few hours to several days. NDIS participants may be eligible for up to 28 days of Short Term Accommodation each year, while aged care respite can be arranged through Support at Home.
Home Caring offers in-home respite, community access respite and Short Term Accommodation (STA). We do not currently provide residential respite in aged care facilities.
Yes. Respite care may be funded through a government Support at Home package or the NDIS, depending on your situation. We can help you understand your options and develop a plan that fits your funding.
