Palliative Care Nursing

Palliative care nursing is a very special calling and our nurses from Home Caring provide a discrete, sensitive and highly professional approach for each individual.

Respite care and palliative care doesn’t need to occur in unfamiliar environments like nursing homes and hospitals it can be in the comfort of your own home with your family.

Palliative Care Nursing

Effectively managing a terminally ill patient’s final months is a highly specialised field requiring very experienced carers. Home Caring offer a team of qualified individuals who can help with preparations for end-of-life and assist primary home care-givers and close family members within the home to maximise the time they have with loved ones.

Similarly, it’s also important to ensure the right level of aged care and overnight respite support and expertise is available for primary care-givers of 24 hour care who are looking after their family.

Regular rest and the effective management of the emotional and mental stress on a primary care-giver can be helped and reduced with assistance from trained professionals of dementia care who understand the symptoms of an illness and have been carefully instructed on how best to manage pain, maintain a patient’s comfort and provide valuable mental stimulation and emotional understanding.

Our respite care & overnight respite team are highly experienced and have attended additional training in mouth care, pressure care management, manual handling and changing pads.

Support for end of life patients can effectively be managed and undertaken within the home and has often been found to greatly improve the quality of life during their final time. The familiar surroundings of home full of the faces of those they love can help to alleviate some of the stress of such a difficult period.
